For all those do-it-yourselfers out there, this is for you... Originally before selecting a mosaic service to create my mosaic, I tried several different mosaic software programs, with not much success (read my intro for details). I again scoured the web and found nine mosaic programs that seemed to offer automatic mosaic creation. Since my first attempts, I have learned quite a bit about photo mosaics, and think I am ready for another try. For the past few weeks I have been working diligently with a handful of software programs (free and paid). So far, one thing I noticed was that although all produce similar results, it seems to really come down to learning the correct settings and dials to turn to get a mosaic that looks good - not an easy task. After much trial and error, I think I am getting close on a few programs. I hope to have a full review posted soon! June 17th, 2009 Update: My apoligies for not updating this section -- I had a few personal and career items to take care of. I have made some good progress in reviewing a majority of mosaic software available on the internet. I hope to post my reviews soon. Thanks, Melissa!
In the meantime, please take a look at my Mosaic 101 page to understand a few things to look out for.
