We wanted to create a review process that was completely impartial and unbiased. What we decided was to send the same target source image and cells to each mosaic company and then record our experience with each along with the quality of resulting mosaic. To be considered in our list of mosaic companies for review, you had to meet the following criteria: 1) A listing that appears in the first three pages of Google or Yahoo search results for the term “photo mosaic” or “picture mosaic” OR appear in a “sponsored listings” section of either of these search engines. 2) Display pricing that is equal or less than $300.00 (USD) for a mosaic product with a print size of approximately 18"x24" 3) Offer online ordering. We sent the following target source image to each mosaic company, a photo of my father and my niece and nephew. ![]() We wanted to pick a somewhat complicated target source image, however not too complicated that it would be impossible to create a quality mosaic. We felt that selecting a photo with 3 faces would be a good candidate (not to mention the cute factor!) We also supplied each company with the same 400 cell photos to create the mosaic, here is a small sample of the cell photos we submitted: ![]() After about a two week period we had recorded experience and fully analyzed the end product of each company. Please visit our Mosaic Review pages and Side-by-Side comparison page to see what we found. If you or anyone else has used one of these services, please feel free to write your own review! We hope that you find our detailed review helpful and useful in selecting the mosaic service that is right for you. |
