Hi there...I am new to photo mosaics. Does anyone out there have any recommendations for the best material to print a poster size mosaic on? I heard luster photo paper is a good option, however I have wanted to know if glossy photo paper, matte, or canvas, vinyl, or even aluminum were better options. Has anyone done any comparisons in terms or clarity/durability/anti-glare?

I struggled with this same issue with many print shops. The main concept here is that you want the smoothest possible surface so that the ink droplets lay evenly and uniformly. The smoother the media, the clearer he print will be. This is very important since (as you already know) photo mosaics contain small pictures with many small details. There are many grades and media products out on the market - the only real way to get a feel for any media type is to run a print test case. However usually glossy and semi-glossy photo papers offer great clarity (very smooth surface). Other issues that you will want to consider is glare and white brightness.

I am now thinking that I am going to display the photo mosaic on a curved surface - I have bare slightly curved wall in my living room. Is there anything I should know as far as displaying and/or mounting the mosaic mural?
